Nursery Liability Insurance
Why do Nurseries and daycare centers need insurance?
Caring for someone else’s child is a tremendous responsibility. There’s always the possibility of a child being injured. Nursery Liability insurance provides peace of mind and financial protection from injuries, lawsuits, and accidents.
What insurance policies can nurseries take out?
All Lebanese registered nurseries are required by Decree No. 12286 (Dated 15/04/2004) to have Nursery Liability insurance covering:
- Accidental death indemnity
- Partial &/or Total permanent Disablement
- Medical, Pharmaceutical and Hospitalisation Expenses
What non-required nursery insurance policies are useful?
- General Public liability insurance: covers legal liability in various situations like injury to a member of the public (a parent or nursery visitor) or damage or loss to a third party’s property.
- Property insurance: Protecting the building, premises and contents of the nursery.
- Workers' Compensation insurance: to cover injuries or Disabilities to your employees.
- Professional liability insurance: to cover legal defense costs if a child care provider is sued for a mistake, such as lack of supervision that leads to an injury or Food poisoning and the like.
